Today is the last 2 days for the Little League World Series! Starts at 12:30 est and is on ABC! These games are played at Lamade Statium in Williamsport, PA! 76 years ago the organized Little League baseball was started in Williamsport! Ever since, the world series have always been played there! Williamsport is 30 minutes from my home and I always made sure my kids would see at least 1 of the games every year! It was always a lot of fun! This year a team from PA is in it, Redland! Today they play Texas! Of course I hope PA wins! But whoever wins, these kids will have memories for their whole life! Great program and I wanted to share it with you! Pam aka Dyzzle

Well, today is the finals! Japan faces Pennsylvania for the Little League World Championship! Both teams are incredible! All games have been real nail biters! The game is on at 3:00 PM EST on ABC! Of course I will be cheering on PA! Go Red Land go! Last nights game had 50,00 people in attendance! More than any time in Little League history! But today will see a much larger turn out! I also need to mention a team from Pennsylvania last won the series in 1960! And the reason I am writing in red, that is the color for Red Land! If you check in on the game, you will see a sea of red!

Well japan won the series! Both teams came away as winners. Both on and off the field all team showed such respect! And all teams were winners! I was really surprised when the Penn State Nittany Lions invited the Redland team to the Penn State playing field! They all had a great time. These are memories that will never be forgotten by any of the teams.

I've been meaning to get on this thread for a while now and just haven't had the amount of time I needed to say what I want correctly!
Fun Fact: It was not until 1974 that girls could officially play on a Little League team! (The year I graduated!)
On world news the other night they were showing an all girls Little League team! As soon as I saw this I noticed a man was doing the pitching! This level of play is called farm team! They teach the fundamentals of Little League and by doing so, as they learn, they are protected!
Levels of Play;
T-Ball: 6 year olds Farm Team: 7-9 year olds (9 years may be kept on this team an extra year if it is determined they are not quite ready for the next step!) Major League: 9-12 year olds Senior League: 13-15 year olds Teener League: 16-18 year olds
And from Major League on up the girls and boys may choose whether they wish to play baseball or softball!
These levels are the same for both boys and girls!
The Little League World series has always been played at Lamade Stadium in South Williamport, PA!

My little 10 year old cousin (he just turned 10 last year) played baseball for the first time this year. He's not very good at it, but we've been working with him. All of the other little boys on his team have all been playing on the same team for a few years now. In fact, a couple of his teammates also play on the All-Stars team. Anyways, the name of their team is the Gulfport Gators & they are considered a minor league team.
Kyle & I were home & went to his last game this past Monday. It was their championship game. And they won!!! So each boy on the team got a medal & the team also received a trophy plaque. Here are a few pics from the game, & also Jonathan's team picture.
