Hey Everybody, I've never bid in any auctions but I thought I'd give it a try. Anyone have any advise for me? What do people bid in these? Do we have any winners here? If any of our members win anything, Let us all know about it. Good Luck Everyone!!! Hey Kittyx11- GSN keeps it kinda hush-hush on the $250. I've never won that, I finally won a $25. card- (still waiting on that-) but recently they did show (for the first time I've ever seen) what people bid to win on the $250. another interesting one was the guy who bid over 1,500,000 for the $25. card- he should have put that on the $250.! Good Luck to you too.

WOW, That's wild!!! My BIG Question is where do these people get all of these Oodles??? I stopped spending my Oodles a year or more ago to save up for Auctions and I only have a little over 400,000. I thought that was great, but I guess not. I would never spend as much as these people have on a $25 anything, it has taken way too much to get the Oodles. I do the promos, the daily Oodles wonder wheel, Videos when they are offered and I try to get on as many leaderboards as possible, I usually get in the top 100 of at least 5 or 6 games and that's several 100 Oodles a day.
So Where and How do they get all those Oodles? If they have worked as hard and as long as I have and not spend any of them why in the world would they spend so much for $25 anything?
Well, I've been saving up to bid on a $100 or $500 Walmart or Target card. I guess it will take me a couple more years before I have enough Oodles for that. Big Congrats on your Win!! It's great to hear when one of our own has won something.
Thanks for all the info and Happy Oodleing!!

After seeing how low some of those bids were for the $250 Sweepstakes, I decided to just go check it out. I'm super confused. It says it costs 75 Oodles to enter. And it asks how many entries I want. So the highest # of entries listed is 200. So if I did the 200 entries x 75 Oodles each, that means I'm paying 15,000 Oodles for those 200 entries. Correct?? So how are some of these people spending over 200,000 Oodles for this Sweepstake?? And once I pay the 15,000 Oodles for my 200 entries, if I'm not the one who wins the $250, will I just be out those 15,000 Oodles?? Or do they give the losers of the Sweepstake back the Oodles they bid?
The only Sweepstakes I've ever entered was the one for the $25 gifcard, which I've won twice. Once it was a Target gift card & the other time it was a Walmart one. I always bid for them & entered the Sweepstake, however with the $25 Gift card Sweepstake you only get one entry for 750 Oodles. Both of the gift cards I won were from my bids, not the Sweepstake, so of course I lost a lot of Oodles to win the gift cards. If I remember correctly, they only took my Oodles when I won the gift cards, not every time I made a bid. But it's been at least a year since I last tried for the gift cards (trying to build my Oodles back up) that I forget how it really works.

From what I understand you lose the Oodles you put in for Sweepstakes, with Auctions if you don't win you only lose the entry fee not what you bid. I complete quit Sweepstakes because I think the chances of winning are slim. I am just saving mine for Auctions. I don't understand the amounts incucrash listed either. I don't know how they ever get that amount of Oodles and I can't understand why they would spend so much for Sweepstakes. I have seen in the winners list on GSN The same person bid an insane amount and win not once but twice that means they had 2 times the insane amount of Oodles. That blows my mind. Did they save for years or what?
Anyone else have any input? I think we would all love to hear it.

I mean, that's why I'm so curious how it works. Because some of these winners for the $250 won by spending over 200,000 Oodles. And if you lose your Oodles every time you make a bid, that's a lot of Oodles. If I was to try for this Sweepstake, I would want to bid everyday. But I can't see myself losing 200,000 Oodles everyday & having nothing to show for it (winning the $250). That's why I'm thinking that GSN only takes the Oodles from your account IF you win the Sweepstakes. Otherwise, like you said, where are people getting all these Oodles to bid these large amounts everyday?!?
Incucrash, where are you?!? We need answers!!! Lol

Big Congrats on your win, incucrash! You too Lelee! Like Kitty, it's always great to hear when one of our own wins something!
Interesting conversation you guys have going here and very enlightening. Until a couple of months ago I had never participated in any of the sweeps or auctions because I wasn't sure how they worked and was afraid of losing my hard earned oodles if I didn't win. But then something piqued my interest in one of the auctions and I decided to get in on it. It was then that I learned that if you don't win you don't lose what you bid, just your entry fee. I've since entered a few sweeps, but I've never won anything so, of course, all those oodles are gone forever to me.
After reading the winning stats you've posted here, incucrash, I'm with the rest of you...how in the world do they get all those oodles?!?!?!

So You lose all the Oodles you invest in the Sweepstakes, but with Auctions you only lose the entrance Fee and you get back the Oodles you bid.
I have only entered a few Oodles at a time on Sweeps but stopped a long time ago to build up my Oodles for Auctions, I'm still building lol.

lol, he is probly trying to win oodles- I entered the $250. every day for years- I did win it once- been a few years back.
* sorry LeLee, that one you lose all you put in if you don't win. You're right 75 oodles each chance will make you run out quick! That one guy that won putting in 10,000 was very lucky indeed; so he entered about 130 chances? ... adds up. but the other guys on the top put in over 2,000 chances, go figure.
I also looked thru the winners and didn't see repeats on the names- it must be very hard to win!
My old computer is giving me trouble & my internet connection is bad tonight. Good Luck ALL!

and found the following oodle So You lose all the Oodles you invest in the Sweepstakes, but with Auctions you only lose the entrance Fee and you get back the Oodles you bid.
Kitty, just to clarify...in the auctions they don't actually take/remove your oodles from your account at the time of your bid, they remain in your account until the day of the auction and are only taken if you win. Yes, you do lose your entry fee in the auctions and 'yes' also on the Sweepstakes. You do lose ALL the oodles you invest in 'entry fees' on the Sweeps.
Below is a link to an Oodletorial I found in Player News about Auctions and Sweepstakes that may be of help in learning more about how they work. However, the last sentence in the Sweepstakes portion has opened a whole new can of worms for me, because I have no idea what they mean by "if you change your mind". Geez! They love to keep us guessing, don't they? lol
playernews.gsn.com/2014/05/oodletorial-auctions-and-sweepstakes-and-prizes-oh-my/
In case you don't want to read the whole thing, here's a quick overview taken from the Oodletorial.
Auctions: Bid For It – You will find the auctions here. Let’s use the Daily 100,000 Tokens Auction as an example of how they work. The entry fee is 250 Oodles. That means you’re paying to enter the auction, and then those Oodles are removed from your account. You do not get them back, even if you lose.
Now you can type an amount you want to bid (example 10,000 Oodles), and click on the blue “enter bid” button.
If your bid is the highest, you win this prize and the 10,000 Oodles are deducted from your account. If you do not win, then the 10,000 oodles are not deducted, and you can try again tomorrow if you like.
Often there is a minimum bid on an auction, so if you type in less, then it won’t accept it. Also, be sure you actually have the Oodles in your account you bid, because if you don’t and you win, then it goes to the next bidder.
Sweepstakes: A sweepstakes is something you pay an entry fee, and generally you can purchase as many entries with your Oodles as you’d like. For example, the Daily $250 Sweepstakes costs 75 Oodles per entry. Choose the number of entries you want, and click the blue “Enter Sweepstakes.” A verification window will pop open and once you confirm, the Oodles are removed from your account. If you change your mind you can click on the “back to prize list” at the bottom of the page:

Well, now that I know what you bid for the Sweepstakes you lose, I will never enter a Sweepstake. But, that still leaves the question... Where the heck are these people getting all these Oodles to take a chance at betting over 200,000 Oodles to MAYBE win that $250?!?!?!!? Uggghhh.
Sara, I think what they mean with the 'if you change your mind' is that it's on option when the blue pop up box pops up after choosing your amount of entries. You can either choose to 'Enter Sweepstake' or click 'Return to Prize Center'.

Thanks Lelee! That one went right over my head when I read it! lol But it makes sense now that you have explained it. Thanks!
Hey! I'm right there with you on how they are getting all those oodles! I would hope if things aren't on the up and up (like maybe hackers for instance) that GSN would seek it out and nip it in the bud. But if this is not the case, then I sure wish somebody would tell us how WE can get on that ritzy oodles bandwagon!

Ok...the $25 Daily Gift Card Auction & Sweeps, I haven't done this in probably about a year. I went to do it today, & correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the Sweeps part only used to allow us to enter ONE time for 750 Oodles??? I did my one entry, THEN realized I was able to enter up to 130 times. Which would cost me 97,500 Oodles (130 entries times 750 Oodles per entry), right??
So basically I wasted 750 Oodles on my ONE entry, because I highly doubt my one entry will be picked when others have up to 130 entries each in this Sweeps. Grrrr.

Per bearcatkarl from the Shout Box: Amazed they did away with the gift cards...that really means there is nothing to spend oodles on anymore. Frustrating....
Geez! Until today it had been a while since I had taken a good look at the prize list, but after doing so today, I whole heartedly agree there’s nothing left to spend oodles on! I can’t believe how many Sweeps and Auctions they have on the prize list where you can use oodles to get tokens! Of course, I like getting tokens because I like playing the slots games, but no way am I going to spend my oodles to get them! Nor am I going to use them on magazine subscriptions. In fact, the only thing I saw that was actually worth a flip was the Daily Gift Card Auction & Sweeps for $25. But other than that, they have done away with the all good stuff that makes earning oodles worthwhile, and fun and exciting to bid on! Frustratin, indeed, bearkatkarl!
Per incucrash from the Shout Box: check under Gobble ’Til You Wobble... GSNAngel November 24, 2015 5:53 pm said: "Hi DC, I don’t think there will be special auctions or sweeps this year in the Prize Center." -Then she left for vacation, & only printed a few responses. HOW RUDE!
Please let GSN know how disappointed we are!
Thanks for filling us in on this, incucrash. I hadn’t read this until you pointed it out today. But I guess this pretty much sums it up! But I, for one, will be voicing my disappointment on the Gobble thread about the current prize list. It may not do any good, but at least they will know how unhappy we are about it.
