Have You ever won a GSN Auctions or Sweepstakes? If you have we'd like to hear about it. What did you bid. do you have any tips for us? This thread is not just for auctions and sweepstakes winners, anyone who wants to talk about auctions and sweepstakes this is the place to do it.
************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
The daily Sweepstakes is much harder to win now. You're right, the more entries the better, but I have a friend who won on only 10 or 20 entries, I heard you should enter at least 50 minimum. I won it 5 years ago. I can't remember exactly how many I entered, I think 500. (37,000 oodles) sorry Whisper, you deserved to win! ***********************************************************************************
Right now I am so mad about the lower oodle amounts in ChaChingo. Nobody said anything when they lowered the 4 number match in half - from 10,000 down to 5,000, and now they added numbers under each category- you have a better chance on the Power Ball Lotto.
here's what I found out: (odds to win)
5/80 1 in 24,040,016
5/90 1 in 43,949,268
The 2nd chance helps the odds, IF you can watch the stupid video & get your bid in on time!

lol, Thanks, (I've entered almost every day, ) In ChaChingo not many people I know have hit 4 numbers, Congrats. I hope I was logged in to get the group loot. I know it was sad when they reduced the oodles in half for that great feat!
Like I said - I still think the odds are worse now, and who wants to watch more ads???

I have a bit over 200,000 oodles currently! But the one thing you said about the auctions is that they were like any other auction and that is not correct! In a regular auction if I bid a dollar and you bid $2.00 you would win! But in these auctions I bid 100,000 oodles and you bid 200,000 oodles you would win but you would pay 200,000 oodles instead of like a normal auction where you would have won but you would only have paid 100,001! These are called blind auctions actually and I always felt this was a bit unfair! Vee, I would like to comment on something I found out about the treasure oodles ads, but I don't know where to post it and I am sure most never knew this, shocked me! And I did a copy and paste from players services! Can you please help me here! Pam

After reading about missharvestmoon winning the bid on a $500 Walmart card I’m now on a mission to earn enough oodles to bid on that $500 Home Depot card. lol In case you haven’t seen it though, her bid was 1,459,057 oodles!!! It’s taken me a year to earn the 107, 645 oodles I currently have, so I figure in about 9 more years I’ll have enough to win it! So, back to the games!

I went to the game site and looked for an 'established date' but if there is one I haven't been able to find it. I even went to the old GSN forum archives to see if I might find something there that would answer your question but couldn't find anything there either. But now I want to know too, and I'm relentless when I want to know the answer to something! lol So I'll keep digging and if I find anything you'll be the first to know. Hmmm, just thought of something. If any of the long time GSN senior players read this they could probably answer this for us! So SOS senior members! As for how one goes about earning that many oodles...the only thing I can tell you about this is to just play like the dickens and save, save, save! lol

As for how one goes about earning that many oodles...the only thing I can tell you about this is to just play like the dickens and save, save, save! lol here's the info as per Wikipedia Online gaming
In 2007, Liberty Media acquired the Toronto-based FUN Technologies, operator of the popular online tournament casual gaming website WorldWinner. Following the acquisition, Liberty began to extend the GSN brand into online gaming by re-branding WorldWinner as a GSN service.[22] GSN also launched a social gaming app on Facebook, now known as GSN Casino, featuring skill and casino games along with competitive tournaments. By October 2010, GSN Casino had over 8 million active users. GSN also developed a Wheel of Fortune app for Facebook, released in 2010.[23]So it's been around about 7 years. who knew!!! Good work, Mixter! Thanks! Wow! Over 8 million active users? Geeeeez! That's a lotta oodlers! And as I said on Tips and Tricks...per Player Services: there's anywhere between 65, 000 to 100, 000 players on the site everyday! There sure is a bunch of us who love playing games, but I had no idea the number would be this high!

Prior to mixter99 posting the info she found online about how long the GSN game site has been around I had asked GSNAngel if she could answer our question for us. Below is a link she sent me with some pretty interesting info in it if you would like to read more about how the game site came to be. www.nytimes.com/2007/07/30/business/media/30game.html?_r=0

Very interesting article, read the whole thing! Thanks!! Now I am wondering what the ratio of women to men are on the site! The reason I ask is so many of the ads are directed towards women! And thanks again Doubleduece!

Wow , I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to read all these comments. I get a once-a-year vacation end of May. Even though GSN has been around a while, it didn't come out with the Oodles program until June 2009. By May 2010 they boasted they were 1 million + oodlers strong.
( try & add more later) lol

Thanks for letting us know Pam. I usually don't see the Treasure Chest, (or rather get it to work) more than 10 times, but it's good to know not to keep going after 400 oodles...... Back in those days they put up many small gift cards as "Buy it Now", and we did! It wasn't that many oodles either, My friends & I got Chicka-filet cards, Jimmy-John sub cards, Sephora Beauty cards, Amazon gift cards, & more. Even the magazines & cookies were alot less oodles. If you look up an oodlers' name ( who has been a member a few years) and click their name & the Collections box , you will see many wonderful gifts! Believe me, if I had known they were going to discontinue the program, I would have got more things. I had a Oodles cup with a lid that I used at my job for years. (I'm not sure why it doesn't show in my collections)
One thing that was telling in the story of the TV. winner was that her family decided to make it happen, and sounds like they all took turns under her account to gather oodles. It would be great if we could all do that! Probly someone was in there most hours of each day & night racking them up. But, I had a friend who played under her Mom's account because her Mom was sick, & she asked GSN to combine the accounts when her Mom got too weak to play, and they told her "sorry, only one account per person, froze the other account, and kept her oodles. (hmmm...)
The strangest thing I see under Winners' page is when people bid oodles to win tokens. Recently someone bid over 1,000,000 oodles for 1,000,000 tokens. I have millions of useless Tokens, it makes no sense when they could have bid on a TV or other great prize.

Having been at the GSN game site for as long as you have you're a wealth of information to us!
Really enjoyed reading this, Vee! I was especially intrigued by the story behind how misshavestmoon won the $500 Walmart gift card. Wish they still had those Oodles cup, I would love to have one of those!

Now that I am finally able to get to the GSN site, I saw that my Oodles balance was low. Even though I haven't gotten an email about it yet, apparently I won yesterdays $25 Daily Gift Card Sweeption, which this weeks is to Target. I know its not a big win on a game, but just thought I would post about it. Seems like a while back someone had said they didn't think the gift cards were real or that people were really winning them. This is the second one I've won. About a year or so ago I won a $25 Walmart gift card. The only ones I ever bet Oodles on is the weeks GSN offers the Walmart & Target gift cards.

Just checked my e-mail & saw that the email came letting me know I had won (pictured below). The $25 Gift Card Sweeption is available Mon-Fri & they give away two of the same card each day. They have a different card you can win every week. The two ways of winning are: By paying 750 Oodles you can enter the Sweepstakes (1 Entry only) to win the featured gift card AND for 75 Oodles you can enter your own bid in the auction to win the gift card.
Like I said before, the only time I waste my Oodles is when they are featuring the Walmart or Target cards (they do gas cards & restaurant gift cards also some weeks). They did Walmart about two or three weeks ago & everyday of that week I would enter the Sweeps for the 750 Oodles & then I would do the auction part. I always bid 200,000 Oodles. But apparently the Walmart cards are popular & everyone else was betting more Oodles than me. But since Monday I've been going in there everyday & betting the 200,000 Oodles & entering the sweeps for this weeks card, which is for Target. Too bad I couldn't win the actual Sweepstakes because then it would have only cost me the 750 Oodles entry fee. So basically I got this card for 200,075 Oodles.
